😣 Explain like I'm 5 (Jargon Buster)

If you're starting to build with AI, you'll hear these three terms thrown around a lot. Let's break down what they actually mean in plain English:

🔀 Automation

• Has clear, predetermined steps e.g if this, then that
• Delivers reliable results and fast to execute
• Cannot adapt to new scenarios

🤖 AI Workflow

• Will call an AI model in one or more of it's steps
• Often single tasks with fuzzy scenarios e.g label an email
• Requires data to train model and be reliable

🦾 AI Agent

• Will execute non-linear tasks autonomously
• Highly adaptive to new variables e.g different leads with types of websites to research
• Less reliable (right now) and slow to execute

🌎 Real-World Example:

A newsletter signup could use simple automation 🔀 (send welcome email), an AI workflow 🤖 (personalise content based on signup info), or an AI agent 🦾 (research the new subscriber and craft a fully personalised outreach and follow up in case of questions)

⭐️ Zapier launched it’s own MCP Server​

👉 You can trigger workflows directly from the app your working in. For now; this might be in Claude Desktop (Open AI does not support MCP currently...they have something similar called 'Function Calling'). While it might feel like just another API connection; it's the early stages of paradigm shift in how AI native apps can connect to other tools.

⭐️ Xano has announced it’s got AI Assistants across the platform.

👉 One of the leading no/low code backends is Xano and they are doubling down on AI integrations to make building easier and more manageable. Xano is a great tool for an app that needs to scale from the get go.

⭐️ Humans have an incredible capacity to do something that wasn't intended

👉 Users are using the new Gemini Flash Experimental model to remove watermarks from pictures. 🙈 Meanwhile, Matt asked for his dog to be removed and it didn't want him neither.
