OpenAI GPT4o image generator
The last 7 days saw one of the most impressive product releases by OpenAI.
As Google rolled out it's new model, OpenAI found a way to re-capture our attention with its new image generation capabilities.
Currently it's only available on a paid plan so we've scoured the internet and trolled ourselves all week to help you decide whether it's worth the money.
For cash-strapped founders or an under-resourced marketing team; you really do have a hyper fast creative assistant who, with basic prompting, can create incredible assets.

The level of detail is insane. This is from an iPhone 15 photo of the milk powder.
It's really good at copying existing styles. Go to pinterest and try this yourself.

π Team takeaway
The use case for AI has now widened for media creation. AI text in images up until now has been very unreliable. GPT4o seems to have mostly solved this.
Now small business owners don't need to create a Canva account to generate a simple instagram image. Pros donβt have to open up photoshop to edit text. At least for right now, e-commerce is a big winner as creating and refreshing product content is even easier.
This, however, does not mean the death of the designer. Quite the contrary. Designers can bring their knowledge and 10x their output.
π What it's bad at
OpenAI admit that it can still hallucinate & randomly chop of parts of image. So yes, it cannot be fully relied upon; but it sure as hell is 'good enough'.

April fools
We thought we'd play a joke with Kieran this morning. Here's his tweet from April last year.
...and gave him a small coronary this morning via a Whatsapp message.
π Team Takeaways
Once the initial buzz has died down; we should see an increase in better quality ephemeral content created. The power to create is now in the hands of the user.
βοΈ Expert Tips π§πΎ
1οΈβ£ Start a new thread for each new image where possible to minimise hallucination
2οΈβ£ β β Use HEX colour codes to control colouring
3οΈβ£ Use JSON snippets for predictable layouts
4οΈβ£ When uploading logo files or images containing text, also include the logo text in the prompt to improve rendering
5οΈβ£ Request an image to have a transparent background so you can take it to Figma/Photoshop

π Decoded: Build AI Agents in Bubble
In this fascinating and insight-packed session Kieran sat down with Bubble legend Tom Weslowski to learn how he builds AI agents in Bubble using OpenAI's function calling.
He starts from the beginning, explaining how API calls work, before diving into Bubble to show how to build intelligent agents that can use multiple tools.
If you're interested in learning more about this, Tom is going to be giving a 2-hour in-person workshop on building AI Agents in Bubble the day before the Create With conference. Tickets are limited so grab yours now.
Join us on the 21st of May (a day before the big Create With Conference) in Stratford with four different experts guiding you through a 90-minute workshop.
Last week we mentioned we were bringing you some bonus events and here is your chance to reserve your spot before we release them to the public.
